Acton Turville is a popular Cotswold village on the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire border, next to the Duke of Beaufort's Badminton Estate, which hosts the Badminton Horse Trials. The village has the Fox & Hounds pub, a busy shop and post office, a 12th-century church and a highly regarded primary school. A network of footpaths and bridleways leads out into the surrounding parkland, so the walking and riding are excellent.
For shops and other amenities, Chipping Sodbury is 6 miles away, and Malmesbury and Tetbury are each 10 miles. Bath and Bristol are both within 30 minutes' drive, and Junction 18 of the M4 is about 5 minutes away. Chippenham and Bath stations have regular fast trains to London and other regional centres.
