Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I think it is at a very convenient place in the city centre with supermarkets, local cafes and restaurants near by. However, if you leave in the lower floors and by the streets, it could be noisy because of the music from the bars across the west street.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It was fixed the next day and also the process was clear.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There were a lot of silverfish so you need to be prepared for that.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The James is a fabulous home for me and my dog. Location wise it could not be better situated with everything you need within walking distance from authentic restaurants, well known express supermarkets, brilliant local shops and an excellent food market. Surrounded by a range of bars, parks, churches, libraries and cultural venues together with convenient transport and a contract with a car park it would be hard not to find what you're looking for nearby. Locals are lovely and the area is well policed particularly on busy weekends and student nights. West street is a perfect location with nearby convenient living and plenty of dog friendly places.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Maintenance and queries are dealt with efficiently and professionally by fantastic staff.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Routes to local dog walking spaces such as Weston Park via West Street and past the university. Dog friendly bars such as Cornerstone, Frog and Parrot, and the Forum plus puppichinos courtesy of pups and pals event at different locations within walking distance.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area where the james is, is very central and is perfect for students or professionals wanting a mix of nightlife and city centre. You don't however really need to go many places because of the events that are held by nicole, all the events she puts on are really enjoyable and are fun and interactive and to be honest she makes a massive difference, going to be sad to leave one day but for right now keep those events coming Nicole!!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management always deal with issues raised promptly and effectively, clive the maintenance man has always gone above and beyond for us during our time here and we cant thank him enough!

Again, the events and the vibe of nicole have really made our experience couldnt have been better without her!!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is very convenient, with everything you need within walking distance, including bars, restaurants, cafés, a pharmacy, a university hospital, shops and parks. It’s also close to the University of Sheffield. The only downside is that a woman outside the building sings “Sing Hosanna” on repeat for around five hours every Friday and Saturday evening. Despite numerous complaints, the local council and police have yet to resolve the issue. This is beyond the apartment’s control, though. The windows in my room provide very good sound insulation and block out most street noise, including people talking and shouting, but the repeated singing is still audible on weekend evenings and can be frustrating if you live on the side facing west street or at the east side corner.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They would consider every issue raised seriously and aim to solve it as fast as they can.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’d recommend getting an air fryer, as the oven isn’t very powerful, although the microwave is brilliant. A few storage trolleys would also be useful, as the kitchen is relatively small. It’s worth getting a fan before summer, too—the building is very well insulated, so it can get warm inside sometimes in summer.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in this area has been a great experience. There’s a good range of local shops, cafés and restaurants within walking distance, and plenty of open spaces to enjoy. Transport links are convenient, with regular buses and easy access to the city centre. My street is quiet noisy at nights.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has always been quick and responsive. Any issue I’ve raised has been handled at the earliest possible time, and they’ve consistently made sure everything is resolved smoothly.

I wish I knew how comfortable im going to be here , i was very nervous before moving
