Description

Lovingly cared for by its current owners, this beautifully presented two-bedroom semi-detached home offers a wonderful balance of comfortable living, practical space and a garden designed for enjoying rather than maintaining. Situated in the ever-popular Hempstead area of Gillingham, the property is perfectly suited to first-time buyers, young families or those looking to downsize without compromising on space or location.

From the moment you arrive, there's a welcoming feel to this home. A neatly maintained front garden adds a splash of greenery, whilst the driveway to the side provides off-road parking for multiple vehicles, something that is always appreciated when returning home after a busy day.

Step through the front door into a useful entrance porch, offering a dedicated space to leave coats, shoes and everyday essentials before making your way into the main living accommodation.

The lounge is a particularly inviting space, generously proportioned and beautifully styled with warm wood-effect flooring, soft neutral décor and plenty of natural light from the front window. There's ample room for a large corner sofa and additional furniture, making this somewhere you can comfortably unwind in the evenings, enjoy a film or spend time with family and friends. The staircase is neatly incorporated into the room, whilst the thoughtful presentation throughout reflects the care and attention the current owners have given their home.

Moving towards the rear, you'll find the kitchen/breakfast room, a practical and welcoming space fitted with a range of warm wood-fronted cupboards, contrasting work surfaces and tiled splashbacks. There's plenty of storage for everyday essentials, along with space for appliances and everything needed for preparing meals. Whether it's a quick breakfast before heading out or cooking dinner after a long day, this is a kitchen that works comfortably around everyday life.

Leading directly from the kitchen is the conservatory, a lovely addition that creates a separate dining area overlooking the rear garden. Surrounded by windows, this light-filled space provides the perfect setting for morning coffee, leisurely weekend breakfasts or sitting down together for an evening meal. It also creates a natural connection between the house and garden, allowing you to enjoy the outside space throughout the changing seasons.

The rear garden has recently been landscaped with low-maintenance living in mind, making it particularly appealing to those who would rather spend their weekends relaxing than mowing the lawn. Predominantly laid with decorative stone, the garden features a dedicated seating area, ideal for outdoor furniture, summer barbecues or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon with a good book. Its east-facing aspect welcomes the morning sunshine, making it a lovely spot to start the day with a coffee. The enclosed boundaries provide a sense of privacy, whilst useful side access makes getting in and out of the garden straightforward without having to walk through the house. There's also a substantial timber outbuilding, offering valuable additional space for storage, hobbies or garden equipment.

Upstairs, the same sense of care and presentation continues, with two generously sized double bedrooms providing comfortable and versatile accommodation.

The main bedroom is a lovely retreat at the end of the day, with plenty of room for a double bed, wardrobes and additional bedroom furniture. Natural light fills the space through the wide window, whilst the attractive wood-effect flooring and soft, neutral tones create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

The second bedroom is another excellent double room, currently arranged to accommodate both relaxation and working from home. There's space for a bed, wardrobes and a desk, making it equally suitable as a guest bedroom, children's room or dedicated home office. For buyers working remotely, having this flexibility is a real advantage.

Completing the first floor is the recently renovated family bathroom, finished in a fresh, contemporary style. White metro tiling with contrasting grout gives the room a smart, timeless appearance, complemented by a modern white suite comprising a bath with shower over and glass screen, wash basin with vanity storage and WC. A heated towel rail and wood-effect flooring complete the space, creating a bathroom that feels both stylish and practical.

Beyond the property itself, the location is another reason why this home is so appealing. Hempstead remains one of the most popular residential areas of Gillingham, particularly with buyers who appreciate having everyday conveniences, schools and transport connections within easy reach.

Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre is close by, offering a fantastic selection of shops, supermarkets, cafés and places to eat, making everything from the weekly food shop to a relaxed coffee with friends convenient. The surrounding area also offers access to green spaces and countryside walks, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy time outdoors without having to travel far from home.

For families, the choice of popular local schools adds further appeal, whilst commuters will appreciate the convenient access to the A2 and M2 motorway networks, providing connections towards London, Canterbury and the wider Kent area. This makes Hempstead an excellent location for those looking to enjoy residential surroundings whilst remaining well connected for work and leisure.

What makes this home particularly attractive is how comfortably everything comes together. The generous lounge provides somewhere to relax, the conservatory offers a dedicated space for dining, both bedrooms are well proportioned, and the recently landscaped garden allows you to enjoy outdoor living without the commitment of extensive maintenance. Add in the driveway parking, beautifully maintained interiors and desirable Hempstead location, and you have a home that offers so much for its next owners.

If you're searching for a home that's been genuinely loved and looked after, with space to grow, room to relax and everyday conveniences close at hand, this is certainly one you'll want to see for yourself. Arrange your viewing and come and discover what makes this property such a lovely place to call home.

Hempstead is a highly regarded residential area situated on the southern edge of Gillingham, forming part of the wider Medway Towns. Originally a village, Hempstead has developed into a well-established community known for its quiet residential roads, green surroundings and strong family appeal, making it one of the most desirable areas locally.

One of the area’s biggest attractions is Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, which offers a wide range of shops, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants and everyday amenities, making day-to-day living extremely convenient. The area also benefits from local convenience stores, takeaways, healthcare services and other useful facilities, meaning most everyday needs are close by.

For commuters, Hempstead is well positioned with excellent road links. The A2 provides access towards London and the Kent coast, while the M2 motorway is just a short drive away. There are regular bus services connecting Hempstead to Gillingham, Chatham and Rainham, where you will find mainline railway stations offering services into London, including high-speed services to London St Pancras.

Hempstead is particularly popular with families due to the well-regarded local schools, including Hempstead Infant School and Hempstead Junior School, both located within the area. There is also access to a range of secondary schools and grammar schools across the Medway Towns, making the area a strong choice for families with children of all ages.

The area is also well known for its nearby green spaces and countryside walks. South Wood offers pleasant woodland walks and nature areas, while Capstone Country Park is just a short drive away, providing extensive open space, walking trails, cycling routes and fishing lakes, perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors.

Overall, Hempstead offers a great balance of peaceful residential living, excellent local amenities, good schooling and convenient transport links, which is why it remains a consistently popular choice for families, professionals and commuters alike.

What the owners say...

"What originally attracted us to the property was the area itself. Hempstead is exactly the neighbourhood we expected it to be. We love how quiet the road is, as Almond Grove is not used as a cut through or short cut to anywhere. Even being close to a school, during school rush hours there is very little increase in footfall and traffic. Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre is also a convenient stroll away.

In our experience, all of our neighbours are incredibly friendly, quiet and welcoming which creates a great environment to be in.

The house itself is very bright, even in winter months, and, in the height of summer, the garden gets sun until around 2pm and then again at 4/5pm once it passes back around the house. In addition to the driveway, there is often plenty of parking spaces out on the street which is convenient for when guests come round."
