Living at Bute House on Dumballs Road in Cardiff is absolutely fantastic! The location is amazing, with everything you need right on your doorstep. Having a Morrisons within the building is incredibly convenient, and Cardiff city centre, the train station and Cardiff Bay are all within easy walking distance. The train station is around 8 minutes away, the city centre approximately 13 minutes, and the Bay around 15 minutes, making it ideal for getting around. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and places to explore nearby, so there is always something to do. The area feels safe and well-connected, and the convenience of having so much nearby makes everyday life so easy. Overall, it’s a sensational location and a brilliant place to live!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been absolutely outstanding! Any issues or queries are dealt with almost instantly, and the app makes it incredibly easy and convenient to log anything that needs attention. Problems are resolved so quickly, which gives you real peace of mind and shows how much the team genuinely cares about residents. The 24/7 reception desk is another fantastic feature, with friendly, approachable staff always on hand and ready to help. Every member of the team is warm, professional and can’t do enough for you. You always feel listened to, supported and valued as a resident. The level of service, responsiveness and care is exceptional and genuinely sets Bute House apart. I couldn’t fault the management team, absolutely sensational!

Honestly, I felt incredibly well informed before moving in, and the viewings were fantastic. They have such a personal touch, and the team really takes the time to make sure you understand everything and feel excited about your new home. One brilliant detail worth highlighting is that you can customise the paint colours in your flat before moving in, which is such a lovely touch and allows you to make the apartment feel personal from day one. There genuinely isn’t anything I wish I had known beforehand, as the whole experience was so well explained and managed. The only slight frustration was the gym opening being delayed, as I was really looking forward to using the facilities. However, this was down to the contractors and outside the management team's control, so it would be unfair to hold that against them. My advice to anyone moving in would be to make the most of everything Bute House has to offer, get involved in the weekly events, enjoy the fantastic facilities and make the most of the incredible team around you. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing, the personal touches, outstanding service and genuinely warm atmosphere make this such a brilliant place to live. Absolutely sensational!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We are living in an absolutely prime location in cardiff. We are half way between town centre and Cardiff Bay, and due to the 12 minute walk to Cardiff Central station & the bus stop just outside, we are in such a well connected area. It is truly wonderful. Also, despite living so close to Depot, we never hear the noise of any of the music, due to the quality of the double glazing in our flat!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have thankfully only had one issue, which was the previously mentioned leak in the flat above. We have spoken to the management team and all that needs to be sorted moving forward is the repairs to the floorboards in one small corner of the room. They were AMAZINGLY quick at helping us with our issue, even at that time of night.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I really do wish I knew just how good of a deal this property is. I am new to Cardiff, so I had no clue how fantastic the location was for living here. I would not have hesitated in choosing to live here at all, I would have signed my contract from the moment I saw the show room!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

100/10 recommend a stay here. The building is brand new and staff are sooo accommodating and lovely. Katrina was the person who showed me around the place. She answered all my questions and was incredible throughout the process. She then kept helping me with the move and settling in and now I consider her smile part of my day to day to have a good day overall. Thank you soooo much!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Solved instantly and the people are really sweet. I had some issues with my shower water temperature when I first moved in and they accommodated straight away. I cannot complain at all.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Needed a trip to IKEA for furniture to start with. Apart from that no complaints at all.

Amazing access to both the bay and the city centre, a Morrisons daily on the site which is so convenient!! Some noise from DEPOT across the street, but it has never disturbed us!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Almost immediate response so any issues, maintenance is dealt with promptly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The big shops (to do food shops etc) are a little further away, not really walkable so good to have access to a car!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is quiet, away from student life, but a very close walk to town centre - highly convenient. We also love the view of the bay from our rooftop. There has also recently been a Morrisons developed right next to our property - this makes late night milk runs easy. Finally, with a bus stop being right outside our house, and a train station only a 10 minute walk away, public transport links are faultless.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have raised issued throughout our tenancy, although they have been very few and far between. Recently there was a leak due to a pipe upstairs and within 15 minutes, despite it being 10:30 at night, we had people in our flat taking a look and sorting the issue! They were absolutely fab, have arranged for the area of the wall effected by the water to be repainted, and kept us informed when they were working to find what was causing the leak

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Truthfully, we were pretty well informed about matters like energy suppliers, wifi, amenities, etc because the viewing was so informative. I wish we knew more about the area generally as we didn’t realise how close we were to so many Cardiff hotspots, including the bay! Make the most of your home and do some exploring!
