Description

Brand new in 1970. Loved by one family ever since. Now it’s ready for its next chapter.

Tucked away on a private corner plot in a quiet, long-established part of Longbridge, this three-bedroom semi-detached home has had just one family since the day it was built. Inside, you’ll find a substantial kitchen/diner, a lovely living room opening straight onto the garden, a front garage and a host of practical extras. Outside, a large rear garden has been a gardener’s pride for decades. Schools, shops and transport links are all close by, and with no onward chain, the way is clear for a smooth move.

We asked them what made them buy it...

“Our family moved in when the house was brand new in 1970, and it’s where all three of us children grew up. What made it the one was the corner plot. It gives real privacy and nothing overlooks it. This is a very close community, with many people having lived in the close for 20 years or more. We loved heading out to Cofton Park and the Lickey Hills nature reserve, and there are a number of schools within half a mile, all a safe walking distance. Getting around is easy too. The M5 is five minutes’ drive, the M42 about fifteen, buses run right across the estate to Birmingham, Solihull and Bromsgrove, and the train station is a ten minute walk. It has been a lovely, welcoming home with a close community feel, in a very peaceful location.”

What about the house itself?

“The thing we have never stopped loving is the garden. It’s nice and spacious, and it’s always what visitors comment on first, along with how secluded it feels. Gardening has been a real passion here, including growing vegetables in the large greenhouse at the top of the garden, where there are also three large sheds. The lounge is where we spent most of our time, with its double glazed patio doors looking out over the garden. Summer is perfect, with the patio opening onto the lawn, and the house is cosy in winter. Over the years a porch was added, giving a nice spacious room before you step into the house, along with the utility and side area, which has locked access to the front and rear through uPVC doors. The boiler was replaced in 2021 and has a full British Gas service history, and the loft and cavity walls are insulated. The loft is boarded too, so there’s plenty of easy storage.”

Our agents say...

The kitchen/diner is the real heart of this house. It’s substantial, with ample counter space and a large front facing window. The living room pairs a fireplace for winter evenings with patio doors to the garden for summer ones. And the practical touches keep coming: a side utility with space and plumbing for appliances, a ground floor WC, a welcoming porch, and a front garage with serious storage, ideal for hobbies, DIY or everything a busy household collects. Upstairs, two large doubles and a comfortable single all have built in storage, served by a family shower room. Then there’s that garden. A large paved patio for your table and chairs, a raised lawn edged with planting beds, a second patio, and a greenhouse and sheds at the top for anyone with green fingers. A block paved drive completes the picture. This is a home that has been loved by one family for a very long time, and it’s ready for someone new to make their own memories. With no onward chain, get in touch today and we’ll show you around.
