5Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Building is in a really good area - the city centre is within walking distance, trams are really close and frequent. It's so nice having parking in the building, feels really nice and secure.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Any queries have been resolved quickly. Really easy to raise issues through the app.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The building puts on events every month that are such a nice touch and makes it easy to get to know your neighbours! Coffee mornings, yoga and evening socials - a really lovely offering.

5Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Very central and nearby to the main train station, good links to London. Feel very safe considering how close it is to town centre. Gates and fobs help
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The staff have been great. Matthew in particular has responded to my maintenance requests very promptly and to a great standard. It is nice to be communicated with and kept updated about what is going on, I appreciate the way Matthew has dealt with my requests
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I can’t think of anything. Not as sound proof as flat I lived in previously but this is something to be expected when in a flat

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
A very distinctive exterior, though the facilities inside aren't the best. The Facebook and Instagram adverts paint a lovely picture, though my day-to-day experience here leaves a bit to be desired. I’m quite grateful to be on a rolling agreement . Since I settled in back in August, the building has felt more like uni halls than a peaceful BTR development. With hard flooring throughout the living room, soundproofing between flats is not ideal. I frequently hear heavy footsteps from above, alongside tables being dragged, chairs scraping, and windows being closed loudly upstairs. Furthermore, while the building is fairly new with a striking exterior, the internal facilities aren't the best, a few areas already need maintenance, and there is no on-site parking available, which isn't the most convenient. Overall, it’s a bit of a shame, as it hasn’t quite been the quiet, practical home environment I was hoping for.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I don’t think they are not able to handle those environmental disturbances of thee residents.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Are there many universities students living in this building?
Manager's response2Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that your experience at The Octagon has not met your expectations, particularly regarding noise from neighbouring apartments and the condition of some facilities. We understand how important it is to feel comfortable and enjoy peace in your home. The sounds you describe, including footsteps and furniture movement, deserve investigation so we can understand their source and identify appropriate action. We are also concerned that you feel the management team has not adequately addressed your concerns. Please contact the on-site management team and ask for Paul, so we can discuss the disturbances, review the maintenance issues you have highlighted and agree clear next steps with you. We acknowledge your comments about parking and the difference between your expectations and your experience. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention and giving us the opportunity to respond.
