Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The James is located in Sheffield city centre, offering considerable convenience for daily life. The University of Sheffield, Division Street, and the main shopping streets are all within walking distance. A wide selection of cafés, restaurants, and bars is also nearby. Tram stops on West Street provide convenient access to the city, while the train station is a short journey away. The main drawback is that West Street can be lively and noisy on weekend evenings, making the area best suited to those who enjoy being at the centre of the city’s activity.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Excellent. Whenever I have raised a question or required flexibility, the team has responded promptly, clearly explained my options, and identified a practical solution. I have always felt heard.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Go to the community events early on. They are the easiest way to meet people, and I wish I had started sooner.
Manager's response5Hi Nathan, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely and thoughtful review. It really means a lot to me and the team to hear that we have made a positive difference during such an important time in your life. Your kind words about Nicole are especially appreciated. It's also great to hear how much you've enjoyed the community events and shared spaces. We always want The James to feel like more than just a place to live, so it's lovely to know that's been your experience. Thank you again for your kind words and for being part of The James Sheffield. Miri and The James Sheffield Team

5Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Living in West Street had mixed reviewed with the volume, however my suite was looking right over West Street and it never bothered me. It’s lovely to see a mix of university student and young professionals mingle in the clubs, bars, and pubs. Especially during certain time of the years. If you are not willing to live on a lively street than it might not be the best fit but if a little noise doesn’t hurt you you’ll be living in an interesting area. It’s so convenient the tram stops are right out Tesco Express along with bus stops. It more than walkable to the city centre.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I had an issue with **name removed** raising their voice at me after sling why my podcast wasn’t posted but people who had lived in the hd been posted had been posted before mine. They said it was too much work to edit so they didn’t feel like it. I didn’t let Miri know because I didn’t feel like it was worth it. **name removed** needs to be reminded in how to interact with people and how to make TJs look good. And not interviewing the same people because they knows those people won’t say anything against them.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I think that **name removed**, needs to be given a proper course on how to handle feedback from residents and learn how to be professional. The current Instagram posts done are odd and back the TJs look odd too.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Close to city centre, heart of Sheffield. There’s always food or drink around and never a dull moment. Sometimes though there are bits of glass all over the street but it’s understandable given the location near lots of nightclubs
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Issues are dealt haste and resolved almost immediately.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Well, I didn’t expect to become good friends with the staff and the other tenants, but the events really help synergise the walks of life of tenants
Manager's response5Dear Sep, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely and thoughtful review! It’s wonderful to hear how much you enjoy living at The James, particularly the sense of community and the friendships you've built with both our team and fellow residents. Lee, Nicole and Kyla will be delighted to hear your kind words! We are also pleased that you are making the most of our communal spaces, gym and resident events. We really appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the TV in the social lounge and a water fountain in the gym. These are valuable suggestions, and we'll certainly take them on board as we continue looking for ways to improve the resident experience. It's especially rewarding to hear that our team has been responsive and quick to resolve any issues you've raised. Thank you again for your recommendation and for being such a valued part of our community. Warm regards, Miri and The James Sheffield Team

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The James is located right in the city centre and has access to a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Many of these are within walking distance. There are also tram stops and bus stops on West Street that make access to other areas of the city relatively easy.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The building management is always very responsive and any issues are usually resolved in a timely manner.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I love having a bit of a view out my window. I love my flat at the back of the building. New residents should think about if a flat at the back of the building or the front would suit them best.
Manager's response5Hi Sarah, Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review and for taking the time to share your experience at The James Sheffield! It’s lovely to hear how much you enjoy your studio, the communal spaces and, most importantly, the community we have here. Creating a welcoming environment where residents can connect and feel at home is something we really care about, so your comments mean a lot to the whole team. We’re also delighted that you enjoy our resident events and appreciate your kind words about the team's responsiveness. Thank you again for being part of our community and for recommending The James. Warm regards, Miri & The James Sheffield Team

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
I think it is at a very convenient place in the city centre with supermarkets, local cafes and restaurants near by. However, if you leave in the lower floors and by the streets, it could be noisy because of the music from the bars across the west street.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
It was fixed the next day and also the process was clear.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
There were a lot of silverfish so you need to be prepared for that.
Manager's response4Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for recommending The James Sheffield! We're delighted to hear that you've had a positive experience with our management team and that any issues raised have been resolved quickly. It's especially lovely to hear your kind words about Nicole, and we'll be sure to pass these on to her. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the laundry facilities, street noise. We are always looking at ways to improve our residents' experience. Regarding the silverfish, if you haven't already reported this, please raise a maintenance request through the resident app so our team can investigate and take the necessary action to address the issue. Thank you again for your feedback and for being part of our community! Miri & The James Sheffield Team
