    Legal Packs
Prior to auction the all-important legal pack must be produced and made available to any potential bidder. We liaise directly with your solicitor to assist with the preparation of the auction pack - which is required for all property auctions. Our legal packs can be accessed and downloaded from our auction website as this is an essential part of the marketing process and gives potential bidders the confidence to bid knowing that all the documents and titles etc have been checked prior to the auction.

    Working with other agents
David Plaister Ltd have a first class working relationship with numerous agents who place properties in our auctions on a joint agreement basis.

    The auction process
In the vast majority of cases the seller will have set a reserve price, below which the property cannot be sold. Once the reserve price has been achieved, the bidding will continue until conclusion, the auctioneer will confirm the sale by the fall of the gavel. This will trigger an immediate exchange of contracts with full legal completion and full and final payment 28 days later. (Unless otherwise agreed).
  • paragraph

    Viewing
Viewings take place weekly at pre announced, fixed times. A member of our auction team will be in attendance in order to answer any questions which potential bidders may raise.
  • paragraph

Setting the guide and reserve price
The David Plaister auction team will recommend a guide price - this figure will indicate to potential bidders the price range that the property is expected to sell at. The reserve price is simply the figure at which you will not sell the property below. The guide price will be advertised to the general public however the reserve price is normally confidential.

    image cannot be displayed

Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset - SHOES donated by James Bond Actress, Jane Seymour, and hundreds of women across the region, have raised more than £2,000 for charity.

The glamourous Bond star flew over a pair of signed shoes, which she wore at the Los Angeles Grammys, to take centre stage at The Grand Pier Ladies Auction of Heels event.

Together with her Grammy pass and two signed books, the items fetched over £200.

Coveted labels such as Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Prada, plus many high street shoes were also auctioned, raising £2310 for Weston Hospicecare.

The funds raised will help provide patient care and pain medication for terminally ill patients across North Somerset.

Event organisers, David Plaister estate agents, say the auction was a huge success and they are now planning a handbag event.

Mr Plaister said: "This was the first of our fundraisers and we were delighted with the support shown. "We literally had hundreds of pairs of previously loved shoes donated and hope our next fundraiser of designer handbags will attract equal support."

Paul Charalambous, Grand Pier General Manager, said: "This was a wonderful charitable event raising vital funds for Weston Hospicecare and we look forward to hosting the next auction."

Anyone wishing to make a handbag donation can deliver to Escape Hair and Beauty, in Bleadon or Skidmore's in Worle High Street.

Sold at Auction & very pleased

In the current housing climate selling our house by auction had several advantages including knowing how much we were going to receive in advance and that the exchange of contracts would take place at the end of the successful auction sale. Never having sold a house by auction before David took us through the process in great detail communicating frequently about the interest being shown by prospective bidders, arranging convenient viewing times and advising on the guide price. He and his team were very supportive throughout from the initial valuation through to the actual auction itself. We would have no hesitation in recommending the process and using David's expertise. Thanks again for your help and support over the last few weeks. Best wishes. "Sue Walker

      very professional...no hesitation in recommending

Having recently sold my investment property by auction, I was so impressed by the speed and efficiency of the David Plaister Ltd process that I have been recommending the service to friends ever since. My property was on the market with other agents for months prior to meeting David Plaister and on numerous occasions for one reason or another, sales were agreed and then fell through which was extremely frustrating to say the least. When the auction process was explained to me it just felt like the right thing to do. David fully advised me with regard to setting the guide price and then again with the reserve price. I attended the auction and witnessed a slick and very professional organisation deliver the auction leaving bidders in no doubt as to the process, or indeed what was expected of them. My property was sold for more than I was expecting, contracts were exchanged on the fall of the gavel...completion 28 days later. JOB DONE. I have no hesitation at all in recommending the David Plaister Ltd auction team. "Mrs A. Glozier

They said it would sell at auction ,which it did.
I would like to thank all the team at Plaister's for selling my property. I chose Plaister as they have a real interest in WSM and the surrounding area, this makes their pitch of sale genuine. Plaister estimated the price of my property very realistically .They said it would sell at auction ,which it did. I found all members of staff very helpful.I have recommended Plaister to other people selling property.I was myself recommended to sell with Plaister from my solicitor. Plaister also support local charities, for example,Weston Hospice .This particular charity is close to my heart. " S.Pueschel

The team were very professional and responsive
I was initially considering rental, sale by private treaty or auction to obtain maximum value from a property. David gave me clear pros and cons for each, plus a recommendation, which was of a quality and clarity above that of the other agents I'd initially contacted. Having chosen to auction the property, numerous visits were well managed and discussions on how to maximise value were held when appropriate, demonstrating a flexible approach to potential buyer offers doing the marketing period. The auction sale was successful in achieving a very good price. Throughout the auction period all the team were very professional and responsive to all communications, engendering a level of trust that was appreciated, especially as I do not live in Weston." I would recommend this firm to anyone.
My sister and brother and I, as joint Attorneys, have just sold our parents' house via auction. From the very beginning of the process when Ed came to talk to us at the property, everything has been handled with top class professionalism. Every member of the team with whom we have had dealings (Ed, Beth, Justine, Joe, and Louise) are knowledgeable and efficient. They even seem to communicate with each other, which is a rare thing in offices these days! Telephone messages were passed to the correct person and if a promise was made for a ring back, this actually happened - every time! Good old fashioned values in a very 21st Century firm. Office staff were given the opportunity to have a look at the property before viewings started so that they could answer the questions of prospective purchasers with first hand experience. This is a very good idea! All prospective purchasers were accompanied to viewings by a member of the team, and my family were kept informed of the times of appointments. The auction itself was very well organised and we were pleased with the outcome where the property sold on the night, right in line with the original valuation. This was followed by a painless legal procedure which was carried out by the solicitors recommended by Ed, who are very used to producing auction packs and attending the events. All in all, I would recommend this firm to anyone, whether selling or buying. It is quite refreshing to encounter a team of people who know what they're doing and are happy to provide good customer service. They are definitely getting it right!" K Chaplin

      professional manner
I would like to thank all of David Plaister's team for the professional manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the process of selling my property at auction. David himself was honest and frank about the valuation of the property and worked extremely hard to get the sell. Beth was very proactive and gave feedback with statistics of interest shown on the internet. I would certainly use David Plaister's team again and would also recommend."  M.Wilcox
