    Michael began his career selling real estate in Sydney, Australia and moved to London some 10 years ago. Since then he has worked for a large estate agent in East London before personally moving to South East London and starting his journey with Gareth James Property. Michael enjoys being part of a team and has loved every minute of working with the Gareth James team. He was drawn to Gareth James due to the strength of the brand in the local market place and the opportunity to align himself with top negotiators and first class mentors. Gareth James' support network provides potential for Michael to excel even further in his profession and continue to raise the bar in achieving top results for his clients. Selling property in South East London is always exciting and Michael also appreciate the diversity in people, culture and housing options available.       We were very impressed with our experience of selling through GJM. Everyone who we dealt with was polite, friendly, and professional. We had other estate agents value the house: Mark won me over with his knowledge of the local market and honest pricing: we had other agents value the property but from ridiculous suggestions on the asking price, to very high commission. The sorts of estate agents who inflate the price, get you to agree to a higher commission on that basis, and then after a few months on the market drop the price to the more realistic level, but with higher commission. It was a tough market and GJM got lots of people through the door. When we accepted an offer, which was lower than we'd expected, GJM didn't tell us to take it immediately (I've experienced previously estate agents pushing us to take low offers for an easy sale; £20k more for an offer doesn't make much difference re an estate agent's commission). We were advised we should be able to get more, and indeed turned down a higher offer for a chain free buyer. Nicki managed much of the process and was superb too: it was meant to be a simple chain and then became complicated when we thought we were near exchange. She persevered and pushed it through, calmly assuring us throughout. I've mentioned Mark and Nicki: the rest of the team, who were all involved in some way, at some point, were great too.
