Robbie Williams’ £6.75m country estate among most-viewed homes
Here at Rightmove we love finding out which homes have captivated the nation each month, and our top five most-viewed properties in October are all pretty spectacular.
From Robbie Williams’ mega-mansion, to a Scandinavian ‘Scyld’ house, take a look at these incredible properties. Which one is your favourite?
1. Robbie Williams’ Wiltshire mega-mansion
Want to take a look inside the home of a global superstar? It seems lots of us already have, as the £6.75 million mega-mansion owned by Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda was the most-viewed property listing on Rightmove last month.
The home is nothing short of what you would expect from a pop legend, with standout features including a 73ft heated swimming pool, a grass football pitch and its very own helicopter hangar!
The couple have previously said that “the gardens and trees have enchanted us with their magic”, while “on rainy days, we’ve played and splashed around the indoor pool, much to our delight.”
2. An architectural gem on the Scottish monuments list
This beautiful four-storey townhouse is located in the Glasgow’s West End district of Dowanhill.
Built around 1870, the home is a showcase of magnificent features, from ornately-leaded stained-glass windows to panelled entrance hall. Spread over four floors, there are six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a formal dining room with Italianate panelling and exquisite parquet flooring.
Outside, steps lead down to a south-facing garden with three storage cellars beneath the lawn.
3. An elegant Cotswolds manor house
Fancy counting the Prince of Wales among your neighbours? The Elmestree House estate in Doughton is set in the same countryside area as Highgrove Gardens, near Tetbury.
It’s no surprise that this grand estate has been receiving lots of attention on Rightmove. The Manor House and farmstead estate has been listed as a potential restoration project, which includes the Grade II-listed, 11-bedroom country house, along with a separate farmhouse, three-bedroom annexe and two-bedroom Lodge House.
4. A sprawling country estate set in 118 acres
This sprawling country house has already been meticulously renovated, so it’s beautifully decorated and move-in ready. The biggest dilemma you’ll have is which room to spend time in next.
Along with seven bedrooms, a formal drawing room and several studies, there’s a piano hall on the ground floor and an orangery overlooking part of the 118-acre estate and tennis court. Guests have a choice of two semi-detached cottages to stay in, and alfresco dining by the pool in summer will be a must.
5. A Scandinavian-style ‘Scyld’ home between woodlands and the sea
This Scandinavian-style home was designed by Italian architect Antonio Parella, one of only three in the UK. Known as ‘Scyld’, the triangular shape is striking, and due to this architectural construction, the rooms all have individual shapes.
And the location is pretty unique, too, with woodland to the front offering peaceful seclusion, with beaches and a choice of riverside country walks nearby. What’s not to love?
