Parts of the Sunshine State previously out of the league of many British Florida property hunters may now be within some budgets, it has been claimed.

According to Mayfair International Realty, high-end areas such as Saratosa, Cocoa Beach and Orlando may yet turn up a few hidden gems for Brits seeking a Florida property for their second home abroad or a holiday let investment.

The firm’s director Annette Reeve said: "From Orlando’s point of view, your pound is going so much further.

"You can buy a much nicer house in Orlando than you would have been able to four years ago."

Other locations identified by Ms Reeve as hotspots for Florida property include the west coast’s popular Reno Beach.

Florida property was recently recommended by Property Frontiers as an excellent prospect for anyone looking to build up an investment portfolio, due to the multitude of tourist attractions in the state, which include Palm Beach and Walt Disney World.
