The closure of a terminal at Heathrow Airport could have an impact on those who are set to visit a Spanish property or holiday home in France this month.

The terminal is to shut as part of a billion pound revamp of the airport which will see it able to accommodate more passengers, some of whom may be heading to the airport to jet off to a property in Spain or a holiday villa in Florida.

According to the airport, the terminal has played host to some well known faces and A-list stars in its 54-year history, such as the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Gwyneth Paltrow, Princess Grace of Monaco and Princess Margaret.

Commenting on the closure, chief executive of BAA Colin Matthews said: "The closure of Terminal 2 marks an important moment in the modernisation of Heathrow. We look forward to the new Terminal 2 providing a new home for the Star Alliance and a better experience for our passengers, with less impact on the environment."
