Anyone who is intending to head off to a property in Florida should consider all that the Keys has to offer, it has been suggested.
UK representative of the Florida Keys and Key West Kate Burgess-Craddy commented that the area has "a very different feel" to other parts of the state and indeed the country.
She stated that it is "extremely laidback, relaxed and welcoming to all comers".
Those who would like to see heritage side by side with the contemporary should visit Key West, Ms Burgess-Craddy revealed, as it offers an "eclectic mix of modernity and history".
Another reason that the Keys may appeal to those looking for a property in Florida is its climate, she added.
"The weather is lovely and warm all year round, but cool sea breezes keep the temperatures comfortable during the summer," Ms Burgess-Craddy explained.
Earlier this month, AirTran Airways launched a nonstop daily jet service between Tampa, Florida and Key West, which could make it easier for Brits travelling on the British Airways flight from Gatwick to Tampa to access the destination.
