Anyone looking to purchase a property in Florida will discover that now is a good time to buy, one expert has claimed.
Presenter of A Place in the Sun Amanda Lamb explained that there are some "amazing bargains" in the US state, but urged buyers to be sensible about what they can afford.
She even included Florida in her list of top five places to buy abroad – the only non-European destination to feature in her recommendations.
Ms Lamb explained that people who want to buy a property in Florida should do all their research to ensure they can afford it – and not to rely on rental incomes to cover the cost of the mortgage.
"Don't overstretch yourself. You've got to make sure that you can afford to do it," she stated.
People looking to buy property overseas would also be advised to find an independent lawyer, Ms Lamb added, stating that just opting for a professional recommended by a developer or estate agent is often a bad idea.
