Canary Island property investors may be encouraged by news that another possible boost for tourism on the islands is due in the New Year.

The Canarias Live Sun Festival 2009 is to include a concert by rock star Rod Stewart, which will take place at the Costa Adeje Golf Resort on Tenerife on May 16th.

News of the concert follows the hosting of an Elton John concert last year and may indicate that the islands are managing to attract an increasing number of superstars to perform there.

The concerts may help tempt more people to the islands and help raise demand for Canary Islands property for rent, which would be good news for investors.

As well as one-off occurrences such as concerts, Tenerife also has regular annual events, such as the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

This festival sees costumed parades and revelry lasting for a seven day period, beginning on the Friday before Shrove Tuesday.
