Crete property owners are likely to be gearing up for a number of annual carnivals taking place on the Greek island this year.
Two three-month events run from July to September, which may encourage more tourists to flock to Crete.
The Chania Summer Festival and the Heraklion Summer Festival offer a range of arts events, including ballet and operatic performances.
However, the first carnival to take place on Crete in 2009 is in Rethymno and lasts for most of February.
It kicks off on Sunday February 8th and runs until the grand finale on March 2nd, otherwise known on the Greek island as Clean Monday.
Furthermore, it seems Crete’s popularity with British tourists is still prominent, as the island has been named as one of the top holiday destinations in Greece for British tourists by Skyscanner.
According to the website, the sun, sea and reasonable prices are boosting the island’s attractiveness.
