A recent exhibition of French property to buyers in the UK has only confirmed that holiday homes in France remain as popular as ever with Brits, it has been claimed.

The French Property Exhibition, held at the London Olympia from 11-13 September was flooded with potential investors, participating exhibitors told French Property News, with many eager to proceed with sales there and then.

Editor of French Property News Karen Tait said: "I’m not surprised to hear that visitor numbers are up. We’re definitely seeing increased interest in French property at the moment.

"France is definitely a hotspot right now […] with two independent surveys recently revealing that it is the most popular overseas destination for expats and house buyers."

Purchasing budgets were higher than expected among 80 per cent of the new investors, while 80 per cent were also prepared to proceed with sales immediately, according to the website.

The French Property Exhibition was organised by Archant Life and featured lectures, talks and displays on all aspects of purchasing a second home or holiday let in the country.
