Property in Florida could see more visits from Britons in 2011 as improving exchange rates put "traditional favourites" back on the destination map for holidaymakers.
Sean Tipton, a spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association, reveals that New York gained a lot of interest for shopping trips in the run-up to Christmas.
But with the big day now out of the way, other favourites could also reassert themselves – putting property in Florida back on the holiday map for the coming months.
"If this trend continues, our traditional favourites – such as Florida, Las Vegas and California – will do very well in 2011," Mr Tipton says.
Over the coming 12 months in particular, the exchange rate between the pound and the dollar could prove an important factor in guiding market development.
Mr Tipton says poor exchange rates have hit the US market in recent months – but that a strong upswing is typically seen as rates recover.
