The potential of tourism as a means of achieving greater wellbeing is being promoted in the Canary Islands.
Gran Canaria’s department of tourism has teamed up with the Canaria Spa and Wellness Association in an initiative that will see 30 per cent discounts provided on health and wellbeing products and services sold to tourists, Round Town News reports.
Anabel Rivero from the tourism department was quoted by the news provider saying: "It will contribute to consolidate Gran Canaria as a destination for Spanish nationals and foreigners."
Such an initiative could help increase tourism on the island, which could be good news for those investing in rental tourist property there.
Another possible boost for Canary Islands property – particularly in the tourist sector – may have been provided by travel firm Teleticket.
This month the company announced the launch of new air routes from Bournemouth to the islands of Fuerteventura and Tenerife.
