Those who own property on the Spanish island of Tenerife can get into the festival spirit with a trip to the region in February, when the famous Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival takes place.
The Spanish tourism website said that "the only obligation" for people attending the event is for them to have fun and noted the Brazilian tinge to the festival.
Held over 15 days, the carnival features music, parades and costume events which property owners in Spain can get involved with.
The end of the festivities are marked by the Burial of the Sardine event, which sees a sardine paraded around the streets of the island on a funeral pyre, then burned while traditional songs are sung.
