A property in Florida could provide Britons with a permanent base from which to enjoy the constant supply of fun and sun the state offers.

Sir Richard Branson recently told the Daily Mail that he loves the region and in particular Orlando – which is home to a host of family-friendly theme parks including Disney World.

The business entrepreneur’s company Virgin Atlantic is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its first holiday package to Orlando.

He said: "We started here because it has the sun and the fun. It basically had all the things – and some things different – that British holidaymakers wanted at the time."

And Sir Richard is not alone in his praise for Florida, with Paul Collins, editor at BuyAssociation, recently claiming that the state is always likely to be a tempting opportunity for Britons looking for an American holiday home.

He added that this is because it boasts such a positive tourism market.
