Britons planning to head to property in Florida could be keen to try the areas away from the beaten track, given the observations of the US Travel Association.
Spokeswoman Stella Clery-Ackland explains that what she calls "second and third-tier" destinations are increasingly proving popular.
These labels refer to the places not traditionally seen as tourism hotspots and occur throughout the US in places like Detroit, Denver and Minneapolis.
"The traveller, British travellers included, are going off the beaten track," she says. "They're looking for value and they're looking to go to places they have never been before."
Property in Florida's less tourism-focused areas could provide one way for visitors to the south-eastern US state to achieve this ambition.
Sights to take in while in the Sunshine State include launches from Kennedy Space Center, as well as the Daytona 500 race which is held each February or March in Daytona Beach.
