Travelling to property in Florida could be safer with the Secure Flight ProgramHolidaymakers planning to fly to property in Florida in November and beyond may need to provide more information to their airline in order to do so.

From November 1st, new rules come into effect under the Secure Flight Program, requiring date of birth and gender details to be provided at least 72 hours before the flight departs.

German airline Deutsche Lufthansa is telling its passengers to make sure their information is completed, as the rules apply to tickets that have already been booked.

The airline is accepting updates online or by telephone; passengers with other companies may need to check how they can update their own bookings.

Without doing so, travellers may not be permitted to board their flight to property in Florida or any other US state.

The US Transportation Security Administration calls the Secure Flight Program a "behind the scenes" initiative to ensure safety by comparing passenger manifests with authorities' watch lists.
