Now is a great time to invest in property in FloridaThere has never been a better time for Brits to buy property in Florida, it has been claimed.

Michelle Iglesias, an agent at Keys Real Estate, told the Associated Press that prices have fallen by such a margin that foreign buyers are snapping up trendy apartments in affluent areas of state including South Beach.

European and Latin American investors in particular have taken an interest in property in Florida, with apartments available for between $50,000 (£32,306) and $100,000.

These prices are 47 per cent lower than the average seen during the property boom which peaked in 2006 and Ms Iglesias told the agency that there may never be a better time to invest in a bargain.

"The buying opportunities are maybe the best ever. Who knows if we'll see prices again like today's in Miami Beach," she added.

Investing in a holiday property in Florida as opposed to a property in Spain could be a wise move thanks to the weakening dollar.

According to Sean Tipton, a spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association, the plummeting greenback means more Brits will take holidays in the US next year.
