Description

This DETACHED HOUSE affords versatile accommodation where primary living can be accommodated at ground floor level, and two further spacious bedrooms to the first floor. Set in a generous plot, the property commands open views over the attractive south westerly facing garden, across the Torquay Road to rolling fields beyond. An exceptional GARAGE WORKSHOP, driveway parking, and further storage are particular attributes for a car enthusiast or growing family with comprehensive parking and storage needs.

Standing in the sought after district of Aller, on the fringe of Newton Abbot, with exceptional links to Torbay to south, and Exeter to the north, the house provides a lifestyle as much as a welcoming home. Priced to reflect a degree of modernisation now beneficial, the property has been a loved home for our client circa 25 years and presents great scope to further enhance.

OWNER'S INSIGHT

"In 1996 my husband and I bought the property as a small bungalow, and with him being a professional carpenter joiner, and general building expertise, we set about making it the home we envisaged. Our home holds so many wonderful memories, with Gerald's stamp is in every aspect, from the loft conversion to the large garage workshop. I do understand that new owners will now look to do their own modernisation, as we did all those years ago, and there is still so much that could be done. Many hours we have spent in the garden, pottering in the garage, or just whiling away time watching the view toward the fields and farmland. The house is now too large for me, and needs a young family using all the space, so I am planning to downsize and move a little closer to my family in Torquay."

STEP INSIDE

A stepped approach leads down to a STORM PORCH with obscure glazed entrance door opening to the spacious RECEPTION HALL with two generous cloaks cupboards. The SITTING ROOM features a bay window overlooking the rear gardens and terrace, across the main road to the rolling Devon fields. Tiled fireplace with surround and mantel with inset log burner. DINING ROOM with tiled fireplace and bay window again enjoying similar views to the sitting room. The KITCHEN is fitted with a range of units and working surfaces with inset sink. Integrated oven and grill, four ring ceramic hob, provisions for washing machine, slimline dishwasher and free standing fridge/freezer. One of the cupboards houses the electric meter and fuseboard. Airing cupboard with factory lagged immersion cylinder, two windows and door to the side elevation and gardens.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS

To the ground floor are two double bedrooms. BEDROOM 2 with a comprehensive range of fitted furniture and a view over the front lawned garden. BEDROOM 3 again with a view over the front garden. FAMILY BATHROOM with panelled bath, shower cubicle, vanity unit, WC and obscure window. From the Reception Hall stairs rise to the spacious First Floor Landing with ample eaves storage and obscure glazed window providing natural light. BEDROOM 1 with a view over the front lawned garden and driveway approach, fitted wardrobes and access to eaves storage. EN-SUITE with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC. BEDROOM 4, currently utilised as a home office, with window to the side enjoying a view towards neighbouring fields. Access to eaves storage housing the gas boiler.

STEP OUTSIDE

To the front approach is driveway parking for two vehicles and DETACHED GARAGE with side personal door and window. Ladder access to extensive first floor storage with window providing natural light (approx. head height to ridge of 1.65m). The original garage has been shortened to provide useful pitched roof storage with power supply. A pathway and stepped approach leads down through the front garden, mainly laid to lawn with shrub beds and borders. Access down the side of the property with timber shed to the rear garden, enjoying an extensive terrace running the full width of the plot and further timber shed. Sloped access leading down to the main garden, mainly laid to lawn and fully enclosed with fenced boundaries, mature trees, and greenhouse. Beyond the garden is Aller Brake Road, and then the A380 linking Torquay and Newton Abbot.
