About Exchange Residential Ltd, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Unit 1, Maling Court, Union Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE2 1BPAbout us
Exchange Residential was set up in 2000 to provide a reliable and professional management and lettings service in Newcastle upon Tyne. The company was initially intended to manage the properties of parent company, property development and investment business, Adderstone Group. However, as word of mouth spread, we quickly started taking on instructions from other landlords that had heard and been impressed with our service.
Today, Exchange Residential has evolved into one of the largest residential management agencies within the North East of England with hundreds of properties on our books. We cater for a wide range of both private and public clients, landlords and tenants.
Exchange Residential has developed a reputation as one of the most well-respected residential management agencies in the region and we've even won awards for our great customer service.
We have a vast portfolio of houses, apartments, studios and flats to let. Over the last 20 years we have helped over 40,000 students and young professionals find great accommodation in Newcastle and the north east of England.
Whether you're after a stylish professional let in Newcastle city centre or some great student accommodation close to university, we'll be happy to help you on the journey to finding your new north east home and if you're a landlord looking for help to let your property, we'd love to help you too.
For peace of mind, we are proud members of ARLA, the UK's largest professional body for letting agents, we're enrolled onto the Propertymark Client Money Protection Scheme and are members of The Property Ombudsman (TPO), a government approved redress scheme.
PortfolioWe have properties throughout the North East from Alnwick to Durham and below are a selection of the areas we currently cover.
Newcastle upon Tyne - city centre
Over the past few years there has been a vast amount of new build and redevelopment in the city with many buildings which were previously used for commercial purposes now being renovated into living accommodation. Some of the developments Adderstone Group and/or Exchange have been involved with and continue to manage apartments in include:
Rialto
Completed in 2006, this new build development comprises a mix of one to five bedroom apartments, with some underground parking available. Located in the heart of the city centre, Rialto is the ideal location for students as it is within a few minutes walking distance to both universities.
Waterloo House
In 2006, the Adderstone Group converted Waterloo House, a former Victorian Warehouse, into 31 beautiful apartments each of which are completely unique and incorporate many original features. Located next to Rehearsal Rooms, the apartments are set in an excellent location and would suit a variety of people with its very close proximity to both Newcastle and Northumbria universities and access to the city centre. They are located in the developing area of Grainger town, a two minute walk from Newcastle Central Station and the city's metro links.
Gateshead QuaysideThis area is becoming increasingly popular due to recent developments such as the Hilton Hotel and Gateshead College. Other attractions include BALTIC and The Sage Music and Arts Centre and the new Arena which is coming soon. This location is ideally situated for local amenities in Gateshead and only a 10 minute walk to Newcastle city centre. A selection of developments that we are closely involved with and manage apartments in include:
Worsdell House
Conversion of a historic listed Railway Club into 25 modern stylish apartments. This development was completed in 2007 and is located next to the Hilton Hotel on the Gateshead side of the Tyne bridge. The walk into Newcastle takes just 10 minutes, and you can reach Newcastle Quayside in less than five. If you work in Newcastle, on Gateshead High Street or in the near vicinity, you will find a car is not necessary and walking to work a breeze.
Half Moon
Half Moon is an apartment block on the edge of the Tyne Bridge, within walking distance of Newcastle and Gateshead city centres.
The development comprises a ground floor retail unit with a separate residential entrance providing access to six luxury apartments ranging from three to five bedrooms.
Each apartment is finished to a high standard with modern furnishings and contemporary decoration. The apartments have open plan kitchen/living areas with exposed beams adding to the modern look.

Plus it's only minutes from both Northumbria and Newcastle Universities so it's a great place to live and to fall in love with the city.
The Globe is a block of 10 apartments within a few minutes walking distance to both universities. The Globe properties are all finished to a high standard, with open plan modern kitchen and living areas in a contemporary style.
Union Studios is an exclusive development of 42 studio apartments. Union Studios is perfectly situated - less than a 10 minute walk to Northumbria University and 15 minutes to Newcastle University. Ideal for final or postgraduate students looking for a more private and quiet accommodation.

They both offer excellent local amenities, including shops, restaurants and much more. We have a varying selection of one to eight bedroom properties in these areas.
