The surrounding countryside provides many recreational pursuits with numerous golf courses, the nearest being at the West Sussex at Pulborough, mountain biking and walking on the numerous footpaths and bridle paths. A more comprehensive range of shops and facilities are available at the nearby towns of Storrington and Arundel.
The Goodwood Estate provides a whole host of activities including a country club, golf courses, racecourse and airfield/historic motor circuit, with Glorious Goodwood, Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival Meetings. Littlehampton and Chichester Harbour are particularly popular with sailors and boating fraternity.
