Description

Over 1,400 sq ft of stylishly renovated & remodelled family home with a fine open-plan kitchen/day room, separate living room, 4 or 5 sumptuous bedrooms, en-suite to main, plus a lovely, quiet garden with covered deck for dining, & even a pizza oven!! Available 1st October, unfurnished.

Tackley is an off the beaten track village with a great sense of community, most effectively demonstrated by the community run village shop. Predominantly rather charming old stone houses and farm barns converted in more recent years the village has a main line railway station, with regular trains to and from Banbury, Oxford and London, and is about ½ mile from the Oxford Canal. As you enter the village you pass St Nicholas Church, which has been there since Saxon times. A traditional green with a fine old oak tree forms the centre of the village. Families are well supported with a pre-school OFSTED rated outstanding, a Primary, both in the village, and two fine secondary schools in close proximity

Our clients have extensive experience in quality renovation and extension of properties as their profession. However, this house was bought to be their family home and it has been beautifully remodelled with no expense spared as a result. It is bright, roomy, exceptionally well-planned, with a distinct feeling of holiday home about it! The garden is delightful as well, hence it's a fine house for a family to enjoy, within a stone's throw of the school, shop, playing fields and rail link. It is only now available as they have already moved locally - within the village!

The house sits alongside a very smart, paved parking area for two cars, complete with EV charging point. The entrance door leads into a really splendid kitchen with every mod con included. A large central island houses masses of storage as well as a breakfast bar for four people to sit in comfort, and the modern hob sits central complete with a downdraught extractor. An extensive run of units along the sidewall includes an oven, microwave, dishwasher and even a coffee machine, all built-in.

To the rear, the space lends itself perfectly to dining with ample space for a large table and chairs alongside a set of bifold doors that pull right back to let the outside in. Summer dining in here must be irresistible. In addition, the door to the side opens into a really high quality utility room, with yet more storage plus a further sink.

On the other side of the kitchen, the main living room area is equally bright and positive, and very relaxing. A modern smart TV is fitted on the north east wall, and the room has so much space a suite of sofas and easy chairs won't have any difficulty being housed in here. The stairs, modern and stylish, head away from you to one side, and in the far corner a door leads to the downstairs bedrooms.

In our floor plan, you will see annotations for five bedrooms. In fact, this is only part of the story as the layout is incredibly flexible. The main downstairs bedroom at one end of the corridor is a very suave and sophisticated place to spend time! French windows open onto a secluded terrace, perfect for morning coffee, also serves another bedroom next door. There's a very high-quality ensuite, and even a large wardrobe built into one corner.

Back to that hallway, both of the further bedrooms are good sizes, and both contain deep store cupboards. One looks out onto the same courtyard as the main bedroom, however the other features another set of bifold doors that open onto the garden. In our photos it is used as a very relaxing second living room. However, should you prefer a bedroom with bifold doors opening to the garden, this is the one! And serving all the downstairs rooms, the bathroom to the far end is beautifully fitted and very modern.

Heading upstairs, both the bedrooms are really generous sizes. Built into the eaves of the roof, they are beautifully proportioned, with wonderful natural light as each has a pair of large roof light windows. The bedrooms share another bathroom, and across the whole landing there is a very comprehensive set of wardrobe and storage cupboards fitted, meaning there's little need of much else in the bedrooms other than a bed and, say, a desk.

Outside, we have already discussed the parking. The garden is a surprisingly generous, a very flat space almost entirely laid to lawn, and very secluded. Unusually, there is also a generous deck area covered with a sunshade roof, allowing it to be used on any day and in any weather. In addition, a rare bonus is the pizza oven! Too heavy to be moved, that fact is your gain!
