Located in this quiet, rural position on the outskirts of the popular village of Headcorn, a civil parish located in the borough of Maidstone in Kent. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and boasts an excellent variety of independent shops, restaurants, and pubs as well as local amenities. Headcorn Aerodrome is located just outside the village. It is an historic airfield and hosts various aviation-related events and activities.
There are some excellent schools in the vicinity. In the state sector there are grammar schools for boys and girls in Maidstone and Ashford, and in the private sector independent schools in Ashford, Sutton Valence, Cranbrook and Tonbridge.
Plumtree Cottage
Dating back to the 1800’s, this traditionally built detached property offers the convenience of modern living combined with a wealth of character and charm. The current owners have added the superb orangery which replaced the previous conservatory, and added their stylish mark to this unique property enhancing the character.
To the front of the property is the entrance porch and as you enter, to your right is the sitting room, with beamed ceilings and exposed brick fireplace with wood burning stove. The dining room is located opposite the sitting room and has a feature cast iron fireplace with tiled panel. The kitchen/breakfast room has been fitted with a country green shaker style kitchen with quartz worksurfaces, a Rayburn oven, an electric oven and electric induction hob. There is space for a breakfast table where there are bespoke bench seats and storage units. Just off the kitchen is the handy side porch/boot room and a cloakroom. Beyond the kitchen is the stunning orangery with vaulted beamed ceiling, velux windows, corner wood burning stove and double doors opening onto the garden/patio area. There are some fabulous views from all of the windows over the gardens and fields.
On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, two offering feature cast iron fireplaces and all with original solid oak wood flooring and views over fields. There is also a generous family bathroom featuring a freestanding roll top claw foot bath and a separate shower.

Gardens (in all about 0.3 of an acre)
The mature gardens are a real feature of the property, wrapping around all sides and adjoining farmland. The boundaries have secure hedges to the front and a path leading to the front door. To the side of the property is a large detached 4 car garage which is a great space for any car enthusiast and/or as a workshop. There is further potential here to create an annexe (subject to the necessary planning consents). Within the garden there is a paved patio area and the rest of the garden mostly laid to lawn.
