Braunston is a small rural village and civil parish located in the county of Rutland. It lies close to the western boundary with Leicestershire and is situated about 3 miles (4.8 km) south-west of the county town of Oakham. The River Gwash flows through the settlement, contributing to its rural landscape, while the large reservoir of Rutland Water lies a short distance.
