Description

A light and airy first floor apartment situated in this popular development. The property benefits from electric heating, an allocated parking space and no onward chain.

History

Morris House, Bennett Crescent, has a genuinely fascinating backstory. Originally a 16th Century manor house, it later became part of the Oxford Military College before William Morris purchased the site in 1912 to establish Morris Motors Ltd. The factory opened in 1913 and the first “Bullnose” Morris Minor was assembled here. During the Second World War the plant switched to supporting the war effort — producing aircraft parts and munitions — and was later renamed the Nuffield Press in 1942. The site was converted to residential use in the late 1990s. What makes No. 27 particularly special is that the fireplace in the living room is the original from William Morris’s study — a lovely talking point and a tangible link to the building’s history.

Location

Bennett Crescent is set in the popular Cowley area of Oxford, close to local shops, cafés, and everyday amenities. Excellent bus and road links provide easy access to Oxford city centre, business parks, and hospitals, while well-regarded schools are nearby. The area also offers green spaces and a lively community feel, making it ideal for families and professionals alike.
