The beautiful Norman Church is the centre point of the town, which is most famous for the 1685 Monmouth Rebellion. The nearby Colyton Grammar School is another draw for the area as the school consistently appears in the top 10 Grammar Schools in the country. The Jurassic Coast and pretty harbour at Axmouth is just 2 miles away, with the seaside resort of Lyme Regis to the east, just 7 miles and Sidmouth to the west just under 11 miles.

The property was comprehensively renovated and re-arranged in the year 2000 to create the layout seen today. The current owners bought the property in 2004 and have kept it well maintained with many recent improvements, including fitting a new kitchen in 2022, with integrated electric oven, gas hob and dishwasher. New front and back doors were installed the same year. A hallway joins the kitchen and living spaces, which is an ideal area with flagstone floor for coats and shoes, the side door providing separate access to the street. Upstairs, on the landing the beautiful wide floor boards make a striking sight. The Ideal gas boiler (installed May 24) is sited in a cupboard on this floor, providing good space for airing. The lovely shower room features an unusual oval window and has been fitted with a large shower/wet area with louvre doors. There are pleasant views over the rooftops towards the nearby hills.
OUTSIDE
From the street, the front door opens into the dining/sitting room. There is a second door from the street leading into a passageway which provides rear access to the house, ideal for bringing messy items into the garden. N.B. The neighbour has a right of way over the passageway.
The garden mainly lies to the other side of the house and is a pretty little haven in the midst of the town. The private, secluded garden offers various areas with lawn, paved seating area, gravelled seating area and the summer house at the far end. There is a lovely apple tree adjacent to the patio and a further small garden store at the back of the house along with an outside tap.
