The Roseland Academy, the local secondary school, is a 15 mins journey served by a school bus. There are also independent schools in Truro.

The two village beaches have golden sands, with safe swimming, making them ideal for the whole family including dogs. The harbour is sheltered by a historic stone quay where there are moorings and boat storage for the boating enthusiasts. It is a calm sheltered bay, ideal for kayaking and paddle boarding.
