LIFE AND STYLE
Bought by the current owner in 2010, Meadow Farm has been extremely well maintained over the years. “I have ensured that it has remained of a very high standard for my tenants,” she explains. “It has been redecorated regularly and enhanced as required.” The property had already been extended by previous owners and the kitchen was brand new when she herself moved in. “I opened the garden up to create outside space that was much more usable,” she says. “I have also carried out other work, such as upgrading the shed and having remote-controlled driveway gates installed.”
A WARM RECEPTION
Meadow Farm is entered from the front via a useful covered porch and then the central reception hall. This offers access to all the main living space, as well as a downstairs cloakroom. To the right of the hall is the long sitting room, which stretches from front to back of the house. This is a light-filled space with a large window at one end and doors to the garden at the other. “The beautiful sitting room was one of the many features of this house that really appealed to me when I came to view it,” she remembers. “I loved the beams and the inglenook fireplace that housed a wood burner-style gas fire. When we lived here, this was so lovely during the colder months. It gave the whole room a cosy, welcoming atmosphere.”
AN EXQUISITE KITCHEN
The chic kitchen dining room was another major highlight. “Again, I loved it as soon as I saw it,” the owner admits. “Natural light was streaming in from the skylight windows above, as well as from windows on two sides. I thought it was another good-sized family room.” Like the sitting room, the kitchen dining room has French windows that can be opened up to the garden on fine days to create seamless indoor-outdoor living. This also offers ease of access for summer parties and barbecues. The kitchen, with its stylish, high-gloss cabinets and high-specification appliances, encompasses ample space for food storage and preparation. “The beauty of this house is that it effectively has two kitchens,” she observes. “In addition to the large, range-style oven, the utility room also has a cooker. This is wonderful for anyone who enjoys baking or catering for large family occasions and other celebrations.”
VERSATILE LIVING
One of the four well-proportioned bedrooms at Meadow Farm is also on the ground floor. This provides exceptional flexibility as it could also have a range of other uses. It could be ideal for someone who works from home, for example, or as a playroom for small children or a den for teenagers. “When we lived here, we used it as a study or as a sitting room for the children,” she says. “It was a very useful extra space.”
A WONDERFUL HOME
The remaining bedrooms are positioned on the first floor, together with the bathrooms. Both the master bedroom and the guest room enjoy the luxury of an en suite shower room. The third bedroom, which is dual aspect, and the ground-floor bedroom share the family bathroom, which features an elegant, freestanding bath. “This was a fantastic home to us when we lived here and to our tenants for so many years,” she adds. “It has been beautifully kept and is ready to move into. It is in a superb location in Bletchley, with easy access to train stations, central Milton Keynes, shops, schools and major roads. Now it will make someone else a wonderful home too.”
Outside
Meadow Farm encompasses generous outside space. To the front, there is a gated driveway with room for at least four cars to park comfortably. To the rear, the house opens onto an enclosed, lawned garden, with space for outside relaxation and entertaining. There is also a useful storage shed. The garden could be something of an exciting blank canvas for new owners wishing to carry out landscaping work.
