What the Owners Say
Living by the water and taking in the spectacular waterside views across this beautiful, picturesque bay brings a wonderful sense of serenity and tranquillity. We love watching the diverse birdlife and rare butterfly species that thrive in the natural surroundings, and we regularly enjoy the stunning coastal walks and sandy beach, both of which are accessible right from our doorstep.
History & Background
This luxury lodge is a unique proposition as despite being situated within the grounds of the Waterside Holiday Park is freehold property with all year-round residential rights of occupancy. The park is accessed via electric gates and is on arguably the best position within the park enjoying totally unobstructed waterside views across the whole bay of St Lawrence, and instant access to the most brilliant coastal walks. The home is almost totally self- sufficient, mostly running off self-generated, green energy via solar power.
If you are into water sports, or just waterside and coastal living, then this is your dream location. Just minutes down the road is a sailing club and a water sports centre. This is a unique and brilliantly designed luxury lodge, which could easily accommodate family and friends for a wonderful weekend getaway!
Setting & Location
The property is situated on the coast of the River Blackwater estuary overlooking a natural greensward and the beautiful St Lawrence Bay. The home enjoys the most spectacular far reaching bay and waterside views.
St Lawrence is an Essex parish in the East of England on the Dengie peninsula. The village of St Lawrence Bay, also known by local residents as “Stone” is situated on the south shore of the Blackwater Estuary, enjoys a close proximity to Southminster for commuting links to London, and easy access to the historic maritime towns of Burnham-on-Crouch and Maldon.
The village has a single access road leading down to the estuary shore and has seen recent expansion due to its riverside location and proximity to Southminster railway station, which provides a good commuter service to Liverpool Street Station in the City of London.
There are a small number of businesses in the village including two pubs called “The Stone” and "St Lawrence Inn". The Blackwater Estuary also provides an excellent location for water sports and there are two clubs which provide facilities on the waterfront; Stone Water sports Club and Stone Sailing Club. The area also offers an array of other outdoor pursuits from rambling to triathlons and road cycling.
The village is protected from flooding by a sea wall which was reinforced in the nineties, and this provides a footpath along the south bank of the estuary with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
