Description
Located on a quiet no-through road and facing a protected brook, this is a lovely family home that has been well cared for and more recently updated by the current owners.
As you step inside, you’re welcomed by a traditional entrance hall with access to both the living room and kitchen/diner. There is also a handy downstairs WC and storage cupboard, helping to keep coats, shoes and everyday clutter tucked away. One of the recent changes you’ll notice straight away is the blonde oak herringbone flooring, which flows throughout the downstairs and gives the home a warm, modern feel.
The living room sits at the front of the house and has a cosy feel, with plenty of flexibility when it comes to arranging your furniture. Double doors connect the living room with the dining area, allowing you to open the two spaces up when friends and family are over, while still having the option to keep them separate.
For many families, the kitchen/diner is the heart of the home, and having it across the back of the house works really well here. The kitchen has recently been wrapped, giving the units a fresh, modern finish, complemented by the worktops and herringbone flooring. The owners have also cleverly added an additional cupboard, providing that extra bit of kitchen storage that always comes in handy. Integrated appliances include a gas hob and electric oven, with space for a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
There is plenty of room for a family dining table, making this a space that can be used for everything from breakfast before school to sitting down for dinner in the evening.
The rear garden is a great size for a home of this style. An extended patio runs across the width of the house, giving you plenty of room for outdoor furniture and summer BBQs, while the remainder is mainly laid to lawn.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom benefits from built-in wardrobes and its own en-suite shower room. Bedroom two is another comfortable double with an alcove ideal for wardrobes, while the third bedroom makes a good-sized single, nursery or home office. The family bathroom completes the first floor, with a shower over the bath and the all-important window for natural ventilation.
Parking is provided by a carport alongside the house, with additional communal parking also available nearby.
With its position facing the brook, recently updated kitchen, new flooring and family-friendly layout, this is a home where much of the hard work has already been done, leaving the next owners to simply move in and make it their own.
More about the location.....
For a new development, Newton Leys is steeped in history. with some parts dating back as far as the Iron Age. However, it was more recently famous for brick-making from the late 19th Century, in the form of Newton Longville Brickworks. When the Brickworks closed in 1978, an old claypit was flooded to create Jubilee Lake, now more commonly known as Willow Lake, easily the jewel in Newton Leys' crown.
Newton Leys is a district that covers the southern tip of Bletchley and is split between the Borough of Milton Keynes and Aylesbury Vale. Conveniently located next to the A4146 and A5, it gives easy access to Milton Keynes, Leighton Buzzard and the M1. You have a choice of either Bletchley or Leighton Buzzard Train Stations which both offer services directly into London Euston.
Newton Leys Primary School opened in 2016 and accepts children from age 3 (nursery) to age 11 (Year 6). Many parents take advantage of the Grammar Schools in Aylesbury for Secondary education being only approximately 11 miles away.
In 2017 Newton Leys District Centre opened providing local conveniences such as a Costa, Chinese Takeaway, Fish and Chip Shop, Dry Cleaners, Hair Salon and a 8000 sq ft Asda. At the end of April the Turing Key pub opened its doors and has already cemented itself as the heart of the community. It is in good company as there also numerous village pubs within a few miles such as The Three Locks at Stoke Hammond, The Crooked Billet at Newton Longville and The Betsey Wynne at Swanbourne.
