Description

This FINE DETACHED COASTAL HOME, stands in a peaceful setting within one of Torbay’s most prestigious districts and presents an exceptional home on the English Riviera. Providing deceptively spacious FIVE-BEDROOM accommodation, arranged over two levels, the well planned, light filled interior offers versatility, with the principal living space and bedrooms at entrance level and additional garden level accommodation which could be loosely arranged as a guest suite/annexe. The property is complemented with mature and attractively landscaped south westerly facing gardens and sun terrace, with an attached double garage, additional single garage and driveway parking further attributes of this lovely home.

Nestled in green surroundings with sea glimpses overlooking ancient Ilsham chapel, the property is conveniently located within walking distance of the amenities of Wellswood with its village ambience and the picturesque Meadfoot Beach. Local shops, pub, Church, delicatessen and highly regarded Ilsham Primary School can all be found in Wellswood, whilst Meadfoot Beach is one of Torquay’s flagship beaches being a haven for water sports. Just a short walk around the corner is the Stoodley Knowle meadow with children’s play area and seasonal café. Beyond the meadow, winding pathways lead down to Ansteys Cove or up to the coastal fields of Walls Hill, perfect for the dog owner. The Ilsham Green is found in the opposite direction, ideal for lovely woodland walks through the wooded hillside or a gentle stroll down to Meadfoot Beach.

SELLERS INSIGHT

"We loved the tranquil surroundings of mature gardens and ancient buildings, yet within walking distance of Ilsham shops, cafes and school. We enjoyed many wonderful coastal and woodland walks from the house, often including a swim or cafe brunch at one of the two beautiful nearby beaches. The spacious sunlit rooms, flexible layout and ample built in storage of the house worked well for our family at all stages. Having the main living accommodation and bedrooms at ground level, but with extra bedrooms and living area at the lower level was great for young children, teenagers and for having friends or elderly relatives to stay. Favourite memories include soaking up the sun on our terrace, even in February. Also, the sea view from our dining table and glimpses of the sea from the back and side gardens. Work and family commitments have now taken us to South Hams but we wish we could have taken Hope Cottage with us!"
