Description
Location
The location is great - Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth University and Portsmouth city centre are within easy walking distance. Southsea town centre, including Waitrose, Southsea Library, post office, cafes and shops are also within easy reach.
For recreation, the Ravelin Sports Complex is nearby so getting to the gym/pool is convenient. The beach and Southsea Common, and other amenities like tennis courts and beach volley ball courts are also easy to get to in the summer months.
Cleveland Road is conveniently located close to local supermarkets - the nearest Co-Op is 3 mins walk, a large Lidl store is 10 mins walk, and Tesco Extra superstore is 15 mins walk. There are plenty of local restaurants and shops on Elm Grove and Albert Road within easy walking distance.
It is also near to local bus routes, and Fratton Station (mainline British Rail station) with fast trains to London and other UK destinations.
The house
By the main door, there is an entrance hallway that opens into a comfortable sitting room with a sofa and a dining set. Next to the sitting room is a double bedroom with a large sash window. Towards the rear of the house is the large kitchen, spacious bathroom (with shower over a bath) and side access to the garden.
On the first floor, there are three more spacious bedrooms, each furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, study desk and chair. All the rooms are quiet, and the rear bedroom has a lovely view overlooking a park.
There is a patio garden behind the house, connected by a secure gate to the park, so there is plenty of greenery and outdoor space to enjoy when the weather is warm, and a safe place to keep bikes.
The house has gas central heating and double glazing throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances including a cooker, extractor fan, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The City Council conducted an inspection in April 2024, and issued a 5-year HMO licence. All paperwork and fire safety requirements are up to date.
The landlord
The house is let and managed directly by the owners, who are experienced landlords and accredited members of the NRLA. They are professionals living locally and working for the public sector in health and education. They are approachable and communication is quick and easy.
The owners have enjoyed good relationships with previous tenants, mostly professional sharers or students. They have been consistently improving the house since purchasing it 9 years ago, and they manage the house with the support of trusted local contractors including an electrician, plumber and maintenance company to ensure that all work is done in a timely and professional manner.
Viewings and Availability
The house will be available from 30th November 2026, and it will be professionally cleaned before the start of the new tenancy.
Please click on the video tour below to see a walkthrough of the house.
(Note: This video was filmed before the current tenants moved in, so it shows the house as it looks at the start of a new tenancy. Please note that since the video was taken, the old fence has been replaced with a new fence, the old gas cooker has been replaced with a new electric cooker, and the old white canvas sofa has been replaced with a brown leather sofa.)
To reduce the inconvenience to current tenants (who either work from home, or on early/late shifts), the owners are organising 3 "Open House" viewings next week:
Mon, 26th Oct, 2-4pm
Fri, 30th Oct, 2-4pm
Sat, 31st Oct, 2-4pm
Please feel free to book a viewing slot online, or message the owners directly if you prefer a different date/time.
