I recently bought a house marketed by Mayfair of Crewkerne while I was overseas, and I cannot speak highly enough of Jo Stubbins, Senior Sales Negotiator. Two main reasons: first, she responded to any and every query or comment immediately, either by email or more often than not by phone because, she said, it's often easier to sort something out in a phone conversation then and there. This meant there were no frustrating waits or delays, which is pretty unusual in my experience. Second, she co-ordinated everyone involved, me the buyer, seller whose agent she was, both solicitors, my daughter and a friend acting on my behalf, seller's son ditto, and any workmen involved. Throughout, she kept tabs on exactly what stage who was at and what needed to happen next, and made it happen. Efficiency personified, and all with the most pleasant and likeable manner possible.This made for my fastest, smoothest and most painless house purchase ever. At the same time she also liaised closely with Mayfair's letting team with the result that on the day the house became mine it was also ready for marketing to tenants. I had to move fast with cleaning, gardening, repairs, electrics and gas testing and work - but Jo had already organised permission, made suggestions, and recommended gas service and electrician so everyone was ready to go - and two weeks after completion of my purchase my tenants moved in.
