New analysis from the UK’s largest property platform Rightmove, reveals the properties that have attracted the most views from home-hunters during the first half of 2026. 

From medieval castles and Gothic mansions to a BBC-famous Greek renovation and a luxury family home in East London, the most-viewed homes of the year so far, prove that buyers are just as captivated by unusual features, standout interiors and fascinating stories as they are by headline-grabbing price tags. 

While the homes span a wide range of price points, they all share one thing in common: distinctive features that stopped home-hunters in their tracks. From standout interiors to unusual amenities, these are the homes that captured the most attention on Rightmove during the first half of 2026: 

1. A four-bedroom home with its own cinema room and two acres of land, £550,000

Topping the list is a detached Lincolnshire property that demonstrates buyers don’t need a multi-million-pound budget to capture national attention. Set across three levels and surrounded by two acres of land, the home features a lower-ground cinema room and generous living space, with a fifth bedroom currently used as a home office. 

 

2. A £20 million Gothic mansion with lodges and former gymnasium

Jesmond Towers, one of the North East’s most impressive period homes, sits within almost six acres of grounds in Newcastle’s sought-after Jesmond Dene Conservation Area. Dating back to the early 1800s, the estate includes two detached lodges, landscaped gardens and a Grade II listed main house. One of its most eye-catching features is a vast former gymnasium, offering significant potential for leisure or residential use. 

 

3. A Victorian villa with a boutique-style bedroom and rooftop bathtub in Manchester, £1,444,000

This seven-bedroom Victorian villa combines period grandeur with contemporary luxury. While the property offers nearly 5,000 sq ft of living space, a cinema room and a detached coach house, it’s the boutique hotel-inspired bedroom complete with a roll-top bathtub and rooftop hot tub terrace that has caught the imagination of browsers.

House-hunters have also been drawn overseas, with ‘Alamanda’ in Corfu becoming one of the year’s most-viewed listings after featuring on BBC One’s Amanda and Alan’s Greek Job. 5. A 15th-century Scottish castle linked to Robert the Bruce in Ayrshire, £900,000

Set across three floors, the spacious family home features a series of striking reception rooms and contemporary design touches throughout, alongside five bedrooms and generous entertaining space.

While some of the homes on the list carry multi-million-pound price tags, others are surprisingly affordable, showing that unique architecture, fascinating history, standout interiors or an unusual feature can generate just as much interest as luxury.”
