Description

A roomy (1136 ft.²) and very pleasant, detached family home sat in a delightfully quiet close in Old Langford, offering easy access to schools and all amenities. Four bedrooms, one ensuite, two receptions, kitchen plus utility, garage plus ample parking.

These days, Bicester needs little to no introduction! A thriving town with many amenities, it's most famous for the shopping outlet of Bicester Village plus the hub of classic car restoration/sales excellence that is Bicester Motion. Access to London Marylebone can be gained by rail in as little as 40 minutes with frequent services, and the road network via A34, M40 and A43 reach all points of the compass. And locally there are a myriad of popular shops, pubs, restaurants.

Old Langford thinks of itself as a village, with an enthusiastic, close-knit community, village hall, shopping centre, in addition to sports fields, play park, lake, even its own mini Stonehenge! And the Langford Primary and nearby Cooper school catchments are the biggest draws. Offering such a great mix of small community ethos combined with all the assets of a thriving modern town, it’s no wonder this is such a popular place.

Osprey Close enjoys a lovely, quiet spot in one of this area's most pleasant residential side roads. As a small close of detached family houses, it's a really lovely place to live, proof of which is how rarely they come up for sale. This particular house has been owned by our clients for some years, and it is only now available as they have found the perfect house to buy in one of the local villages, with more space for all their hobbies. And that property will be end of chain.

Pulling up to the front of the house, your first impression is how well it has been maintained. Pristine brickwork, smart new garage doors and block paving, uPVC soffits and windows all tell of owners who care. The open porch leads to an inner hallway with hanging hooks to the right for coats, and the stairs rise ahead of you.

Take a left and you enter into the living room. A large box bay window to the front ensures it's a very light and welcoming space. And the red brick fireplace makes for a very attractive focus, currently housing an electric wood burning stove. To the rear, the dining room offers the first pretty glimpse of the garden at the rear through a wide window.

Next door the kitchen is comprehensively fitted on three sides with timber cupboard doors and a light coloured work surface. The freestanding cooker will stay, and there are spaces for an under counter fridge as well as a dishwasher. A door at the front heads into an understairs walk-in cupboard with shelving. The utility room next door continues the theme with the same units as the kitchen, alongside space for a washing machine, dryer or fridge, etc. And with a stainless steel sink to one side and a stable door leading out to the garden, this could double as a dogs lobby. Completing the downstairs is a cloakroom just off the side.

Heading upstairs, at the top the landing broadens, running left and right. Dead ahead, the family bathroom is very well presented, with a white suite that includes a shower bath, complete with curved screen, and a chrome towel rail. There are two bedrooms to the right and two to the left. To your right, the smallest of the rooms is used today as a fine craft room and occasional spare bedroom at present, fitted with a myriad of shelving and a desktop. Next door, a larger bedroom has more recently become the office. Again, this is fitted with a shelves and a desk top.

At the opposite end of the hall, past the bathroom, a double bedroom sits at the rear with a pleasant view of the garden. Well proportioned, it also features an integrated double wardrobe to the side, maximising the space. Back across the hall, a very generous airing cupboard sits behind double doors, complete with immersion tank. And at the end we find the star of the show. The main bedroom is a very generous double, complete with a pair of large windows looking out onto the sleepy close at the front. Mirrored doors hide a particularly wide wardrobe to one side, and the room is also equipped with an ensuite shower room to the opposite corner, complete with a pristine white suite and a vanity unit.

Outside, we have already touched upon the frontage. A side passage allows access via a path and gate to the back garden. At the rear, the garden is a delightful sun trap with obvious care having been taken to create a really relaxing environment. At the far end, a pair of very good size sheds come complete with glazing looking back across the garden, hence they have a potentially broad range of uses. The terrace behind the house runs the full width, making it a wonderful spot to dine or just relax with a glass of something on a pleasant day. Various planted beds dotted around the garden play host to a delightful array and diversity of plants providing an ever-changing view throughout the year. It's a really lovely, relaxed and inviting place to be.

About Cridland & Co, Caulcott

The Morris Building, Greenway, Caulcott, OX25 4NF

Now in our fifteenth year, and with two generations working in the business, we're enjoying immensely being an integral part of helping clients achieve their goals across the villages of Central and North Oxfordshire. And with a Google Reviews score of 4.9/5 we're clearly doing something right.

Our ethos is simple: Provide the service we would want for ourselves. Hence we handle all our business in-house. From viewings to negotiations, sales progression to empty property care, we handle it all ourselves. Why? Because it's the right thing to do, and achieves the best outcome.

The same ethos applies for sourcing a solicitor or mortgage broker, a builder or a surveyor, even a locksmith or a decent pub. We recommend because they're the right place to go for a top quality experience - we earn no kickbacks.

And being a small company we can provide all the same level of market exposure as any national/ international agent, with the all-important addition of time expenditure and local knowledge that only a small local independent can offer.

In addition, we are socially and ecologically responsible. Our office solar panels produce a surplus. We walk or cycle to as many appointments as we can. And we give back to our community wherever we can, from village fete sponsorship to kitting out Bicester rugby club and supporting Nai's House mental health charity.
