Your Star Rating and scores on your property details pages and Premium Operator Profile are based on reviews – so the best way to make the most of these features and influence more renter decisions is by collecting more reviews.
Only your reviews collected either through HomeViews previously, or as part of your Rightmove membership, will show on your listings, and not those from other third party review platforms.
How do I collect reviews?
Our digital Review Form is available here. This is the best way to collect reviews.
Reviews submitted through this form will link directly to your Review Portal – your central control system for viewing, managing and responding to your reviews.
How often should I collect reviews?
We recommend an on-going review collection approach, and feedback from other Rental Operators shows that this ‘always-on’ approach is often the easiest to manage.
We suggest having a reviews target per month or per quarter with your on-site teams, so that there is a consistent flow of reviews coming in.
Having a continuous flow of new reviews also provides better transparency for those visiting your listings and reading reviews as part of their comparison and decision-making, as they can see that the feedback is always up to date.
What are the best techniques to drive reviews?
Posters and leaflets
Display these in your communal area around the community – for example, in a concierge, reception, lifts or communal areas.
Emails and newsletters
Consider who is best to send these emails out. If you have a central point of contact who residents know, a personalised invite to residents can encourage them to share reviews.
Team members speaking to residents on-site
Ask residents directly at various touchpoints – at reception or within communal areas, when a maintenance request has been completed, or even at move-in.
Team members can all have a QR code on their phones that scans through to the ‘Write a review’ page.
Postcards, Business Cards and Welcome Packs
These can easily be placed in the concierge, reception or communal areas or handed out by onsite teams – creating a more personalised reminder to leave a review at any time.
Digital screens
If you have any screens or TVs around your development, a great way to remind residents to leave a review is to have a digital screen or poster with a QR code that links straight to your review form.
How will Rightmove support me with review collection?
As part of your membership, all partners can access our online guides and best practice guidance. You can add ‘Review collection campaigns’ at an extra cost via your account manager who will be able to talk you through your options.
If you’re on Elevate 360, you may be eligible for additional review collection support from our team. Please contact your account manager for more details or get in touch by filling in the form at the bottom of this page.
Every review submitted to Rightmove goes through a verification and moderation process before it’s published, helping to ensure reviews are genuine, relevant and meet our review guidelines.

Step 3
Step 4
Reviews play an important role in helping renters make confident decisions, so it’s essential they’re trusted and credible.
What is verification?
Verification helps ensure feedback comes from genuine residents and reflects real experiences, giving renters greater confidence in what they’re reading.
Alongside manual moderation checks by our team, this approach creates a balanced and reliable view of each development, supporting transparency for renters, while helping you showcase authentic resident experiences.
How are reviews verified?
Reviewers provide details (such as their full name and address/flat number) which are checked against trusted data sources to confirm they are linked to the development.
If the details match public records, the review is automatically verified.
If this can’t be verified automatically, for example, if a resident has recently moved in or their address isn’t yet registered, residents are contacted and asked to verify their details manually.
This can be done in one of two ways:
To protect privacy, any information shared during this process is only used for verification and is not stored. We can only ever accept review verification from residents via the link in their email, and we cannot accept any verification on behalf of a resident – verification must come from the resident using the link in their email.
An unverified resident will receive a number of emails reminding them to verify their review.
Are all reviews checked?
Yes – every review is moderated against guidelines to ensure it is genuine, relevant and appropriate before being published.
Are only verified reviews shown?
No – both verified and unverified reviews may be shown to provide a balanced view, with clear labelling to help renters interpret them.
Helping your residents to verify their reviews
We never expect a 100% verification rate, but we hope that making it easier for your residents to manually verify reviews keeps verification rates high.
1. Remind residents to check their emails
Ask your residents to look for an email from HomeViews – remind them to check their junk or spam folder
2. How to verify their review
Using the geolocation tool is the quickest way to verify a review, but if a resident would rather upload a copy of their proof of address, they have the option to via the link in the email.
3. Educate your residents on the impact of a verified review
Verified reviews not only count more towards your development’s Star Rating than unverified reviews; they help your residents’ voices to be heard.
When prospective residents are reading reviews, they have the trust and transparency that the reviews they are reading come from legitimate residents of the building.
