In London the proportion was far higher that the national average with 42% of buyers stating they would be purchasing for the first time, an increase from 38.2% in Q1.

London’s spring sellers have felt sufficiently confident to market their properties at an average of £431,013, a new asking price record.
London sellers coming to market in March asked on average 1.5% less for their properties than sellers the month before. However, new sellers’ asking prices have still recorded gains of 3.8% in the first quarter of 2011 as the London housing market gets off to a buoyant start.
