Braintree is a clever move

This Essex town is basically split into two areas - urban in the south and rural in the north. The further south towards London you go, the more factories and housing you find, but there are still many areas of lovely countryside around Braintree, and lots of pretty surrounding villages to choose from.

Property in Braintree is mainly post-war and late 20th century, to reflect the growing population during that time, and many properties are good sized family homes which have been extended or renovated.

Houses in Braintree are usually moderately priced, particularly the family homes, but Victorian villas or substantial semis in rural locations will often attract higher prices.

It's a family affair in Braintree

There are around seven primary schools in Braintree plus two secondary schools, which makes it an attractive area for families. Leisure facilities are plentiful too, with the Freeport area boasting sports facilities, restaurants, bars, leading brand retailers and much more.

Freeport even has its own railway station to allow you to relax without the car on your day out and enjoy your trip.

The local infrastructure in Braintree is good and everything has been geared to suit the needs of families who want easy access to leisure facilities and good retail outlets, but don't necessarily want to make the short journey into the capital city.

On track for an efficient rail system

There are two railway stations in Braintree, one in the town itself and one at Freeport. Both run directly into London Liverpool Street, 39 miles away. Stansted Airport is just 13 miles from the town, and the other London airports are quickly accessible.

Braintree has many attractions for those looking to buy a property and bring up a family. Its proximity to London and all major transport routes is an added attraction, as is the well-priced and varied property throughout the area.
